Product Description

Product Description:

4340 is a medium-carbon nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy structural steel specified in the American AISI standard, corresponding to 40CrNiMoA in China's GB standard. It is a classic engineering steel with high strength and high toughness.

  • Core characteristics: Excellent hardenability. After heat treatment, it has high strength (tensile strength can reach over 1000MPa), balanced toughness, fatigue resistance and wear resistance, and is weldable (preheating is required before welding).
  • Typical applications: Used in the manufacture of key parts that bear heavy loads, impacts and alternating loads, such as engineering machinery shafts, gears, connecting rods, bolts, aircraft landing gear components, mold bases, etc.
  • Key processes: Annealing temperature is 830~860℃ (to improve machinability), quenching temperature is 840~880℃ (oil quenching), tempering temperature is 200~650℃ (adjusted according to the required hardness, with a hardness range of 28~55HRC).
